Default New Tires/Help!

Looking at buying new tires for my 04' Ram Truck 4x4. has anyone tried LT295/60/20 on their original 20" rims? Any Feedback would be helpful!

Are you lifted or at least leveled? Stock tires on the 20's is about 33". It has been said around here that you can flirt with 35" before there are concerns with rubbing. How tall are the 295/20's? I imagine they are somewhere in that neighborhood. You also want to make sure the width of the tread doesn't come into play. Often, with wider tires, you need to look at spacers or new wheels with a differrent offset to manage the width.

Thanks HemiGreg. No, my truck is not lifted. my 1st set of tires were the Nitto Terra Grabber 305/55/20, which are 33/12/20, then my next were the General Grabber At 305/50/20 which is 32/12/20, but i wanted to go taller. The 295/60/20 is a 34/11.5/20 and although it says 11.5 wide, they are actually the same at 12" wide. I have a friend who owns a Tire store and he ordered the 295/60/20 Nitto Terra Grabber and it fits perfect. No rubbing when turning and have the same amount of room (no more than 1/2") from the inside of my tire to the upper control arm, so i am going to order and try them on. it will sit up a few inches taller and still give me the width and look i like. I don't want to use spacers and even a lift kit will not change the distance between the inside of my tire and upper control arm, unless like you said, i get a different type rim. Thanks again!

It will work, and the worst that could happen, is that you could end up buying wheel spacers
