I would not hold my breath on that one!
The good 'ol big brother Ammerican Government can NOT ALLOW
people to be a running around in 35 MPG fullsize trucks!
NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!! BAAAAAAD JU-JU!!!!!!!!!!!!
We HAVE to ALL get sucky bad fuel milage! It's the (unwritten) LAW!!!!!
idk if they should make it a v8 diesel or not...i mean if it aint broke dont fix it (cummins i6) plus the i6 is a proven engine, lots of loyalty there. idk if they wanna take a chance at making a v8 that no one will really trust or buy. im sure either way it will be sweet though.

I agree completely!
Why not just use the 4Bt239 Cummins? ( It is the 5.9 I6 Cummins, minus 2 cylinders)
It is a very old engine, has been used in many on & off road applications. In several of our farm tractors, has a VERY good reputation for absolute 100% reliability and can go 8000 hrs. / 500k mi. between rebuilds.
Very very good engine.
There are a few who have made their own 4BT 1/2 ton swap and are getting 30+ MPG. Granted, the 0-60 times are in the 14 second range.
