Smile Looking at a 2007 RAM, again,,,,

Long story short:
December 2006: Bought a 2007 Ram reg cab SXT 2wd shortbed V6/Auto Trans, 3.93 rear axle with posi.
July 2009: Wife had to quit working due to medical problems.
November(ish)2009: Had to sell '07 Ram. :-(
December 2009: Bought a '00 Durango, then traded it the next summer for a small 4cyl Stratus due to gas price worrys.
September 2011: Family member dies, wich was sad, but the windfall was a blessing from God and put us back on our financial feet again.
October 2011: Wife traded POS Stratus for a decked out with EVERY option mint condition 2002 GMC Envoy. Paid cash for it.

Now brings us to today.
I looked at another 2007 RAM 1500. This time for ME. LOL
I guess I am one of those oddball's, because I really LIKE the 3.7L V6 Ram's. ( Was not there a "V6 Ram Subforum" here in the past??? May have been another dodge forum I was on in the past....)
Anywooooo, have not bought it yet, but it is an very high possibility I will.
This one is also a SXT pkg., reg. cab, shortbed, and has the 6-speed manual transmission, 84,xxx miles on odo. Not sure of the rear axle type/ratio. I'll have to check that out tomorrow.
Cant really remember what the V6 with 6-Speed guys were getting in MPG's, but I dont think it was all that great. 16-18ish seems to come to mind. 2009 seems like a long time ago now! lol
Oh well, we'll see how this plays out.

IMO a truck is not a truck with a V6, but I'm sure it could manage a little better MPGs than my 5.9

I think that if it's what you know you really want, and it will make you happy, then by all means do it. Personally, I would research the pros/cons as far as reliability, gas mileage, and anything else you may use the truck for (towing, hauling, etc) and base my decision from there on if it might actually be more prudent to get the V8. I'm sure that overall price factors into this, as well.

The hemi gets better mpg than the v6 btw... The v6 3.7 is way underpowered, therefore it has to work harder, thus decreasing your std

Why don't you just edit post rather than post multiple times on a lot of different threads?
