Default Oil Change Interval

Hey Guys,

If you are using REGULAR oil, not synthetic, are you changing your oil every 3000 miles? Are you using any special oil to get longer intervals? I usually change mine every 3000 I just wanted to see what everyone else is doing.

I might go synthetic, but I have never done my own oil changes (I know, I know) and am planning on doing them now. So before, I didn't want to pay someone the extra money to do synthetic. But now that I plan on doing this myself, I might. I have heard that after I switch, I might need to change it rather quickly the first 2 times or so in case there is a lot of junk built up that comes loose...this true?

About every 5000 clicks/3000 miles. It takes me at least 6-8 months to drive that much so it's a good excuse to have a look underneath at the same time.

First time I saw your sig, I raised an eyebrow. That speed and that RPM. Not to mention at 125 in one of these trucks taking your eyes off the road to snap a pic probably isn't the wisest decision.

Then, I realized it's in KPH. Hahahaha... that's only, what, 74 mph? I forget exactly what my GPS says over here on the Autobahn at cruising speeds. Pretty funny. Didn't even realize the visual difference in the speedos at first take. Nice.

The cruise was set at 80mph which is the highest it engages on my truck anyways. Oddly enough I took the pic for the odo reading, not the speed. It was the legal speed limit in Utah at the time but definately not with my current gearing.

Ahhhh.... I see the odo now. Pretty cool! I used to have one from my old CR-V of 123,400. I wanted to get a pic of 123,456 but completely forgot about it until about 500 miles later. Oh well... Cool shot.

*EDIT*

123 = 1-2-3... I have no idea what this forum is trying to do to my post?
