Default Disabling Daytime Running Lightss...

My old Dakota had a 15amp fuse under the hood to disable the Daytime Running Lights, but I couldnt find the fuse in my new Ram. Is it possible to disable them? I want to use my fogs without the headlights on.

Thanks.

'06+ trucks have TIPM instead of fuses and relays. It's a setting on the StarScan tool now...

Mine is all jacked up. If I turn it to parking lights, the headlights turn on. My high beams and hid low beams are on together to when I turn the brights on. I honestly don't give to craps about this though

Going with what Hammer said, you'd have to go to a dealer to get them turned off. But with Canada's daytime running light law, I doubt you'll find a dealer there that is willing to do it. And if you somehow do get it done, it won't pass its next inspection, and there's probably a cop or two out there that will write you up for it.

Hammer is there anyway to get around it without going to dealer?

As in can you get your on starscan tool or something similar to do it? I assume it would be so expensive to get one that it would be crazy to do it, but still curious never the less.

With all the tuning people out there and trying a million different things, you think someone would have found a way by now.

Hmm well thanks for the reply. I guess it's not that important to spend money to get it done. Just don't like the "look" of the DRLs. Things were much easier when computers were on our desks and in our homes instead of in our trucks.

I guess though, it's kinda neat that the Ram turns off the bulb of the headlight of the signal you have on. Now if there was only a way to "trick" the computer into thinking the signals were at an "always on" state.

I have access to a StarScan but can't take it from the shop where it's at. Yes, if you use the StarScan it can be turned OFF and ON at will. On my friends '06 he wanted DRLs and the truck came with the feature OFF. It's a simple prompt you need to check/uncheck. In the pre-TIPM trucks you can do it by fuse or relay and with a StarScan also but there is no individual setting. You have to change the country code from US to Canada and that enabled DRLs.

A StarScan is about an $8000 piece of equipment (which is why I'm only allowed to "play" with the one I can use on site).

I would imagine someone who can write you a custom tune could enable/disable DRLs, but the cost would be crazy unless you had mods that required a custom tune to have to be written anyway...
