Default looking for advice on what type of cam and headers I should put on my 2003 dodge 1500

I am looking at upgrading my dodge ram 1500 4.7 2003 truck. I have put the superchips flashpaq in it and now I am looking at putting in some high performance cams and some headers. I aint looking for like the pink style trucks. I would like a truck that is really powerful but still able to drive on a daily basis. Just looking for some advice thanks

Trade in for an 05 hemi (or an 09-10 hemi).

No thank you I am very happy with my truck. I do not desire to get a different vehicle. I am aware that because it is a 4.7 and not a hemi that I have a second best but I am very happy with my truck. I just want to modify it not get rid of it.

It's cams, not cam. You have two. Most popular choice are the HO cams (I have a set in my Grand Cherokee with the 4.7 HO engine). I don't believe anybody is making long tube headers for the 4.7, but I know JBA & Gibson have shorties and possibly a mid tube model.

About the best site to look at/buy power adders for the 4.7 is http://www.airram.com/

Hammer

Thank you so much. I went to the URL you gave and they were sold out. However I now know what I am going to get. Is there anything I should buy that would make the transition from stock cams to HO cams? Or is it just a straight forward switch?

Any suggestion on what type of headers? I was leaning towards hedman ( not sure if i spelled that right ) but I would still like to know your opinion?

Cams - one for each bank
Intake manifold from an '08 (not sure if that would fit)
Mill the heads, maybe polish the ports
Bigger throttle body to let in more air
Custom tune for the computer
Headers and a freed-up exhaust to get rid of the air will help, too.
An e-fan for more cooling. The 4.7s like to over heat for some reason. The e-fan will give you a touch more off-the-line jump, too.

I would suggest doing a cat-back exhaust and a cold air intake before you get into cams and headers, kind of like preperation mods so it breathes better...
A second vote for an efan too, and the Fastman 68.5mm Throttle body is a good buy as well...
