Default Made a power wire today

Went to radio shack and bought some 4.7kohms resistors 1/2w and made a PW today.Only took about 10 minutes with everything and before my scan gauge was reading about 108 just at idle and when I plugged in the PW it read 80 degrees.

Took it for a test drive and the truck seems to have a little bit better throttle response and pick up. Along the test drive the gauge didn't go over 80 degrees at all, usually its reading 110-120 degrees since its been pretty hot here.

So far I'm happy and glad I did this today.

From my understanding powerwires are only suppose to operate at WOT. So if its giving you readings when not at WOT I would think something is wrong. I could be mistaken though.

It advances timing by tricking the computer PCM into thinking the air being sucked in is colder than what it really is, about 20 degrees colder.

I know what it does... I used to have one but it only works at WOT (at least it's supposed to) so I took mine off because I rarely rev that much

You cut one of the two wires coming form your AIT sensor and install the wire between the two cut points

It will always trick the sensor into reading colder regardless of throttle position. People say the only real gains are at wot.

weed has a diy on it in that section, it's pretty easy to do if you are interested in it at all.
