Default Treadwrights anyone?

Anyone ever run these? Good, bad, uglys? Saw on their website that they are running a online special $153 a tire for 285/70R17s.

Sorry guy, but I would NEVER run a re-tread. I see your truck is a 2wd but I use my truck out in places where you have to have 4wd just to get to when I go camping so I rely on my tires. I think most re-treads come apart on the highway though when they get heated up from going too fast. To me its a safety issue. Just my thoughts.

Thanks. I have read about 30-40 reviews on various forums about them, and they all seem to have rave reviews...especially in their traction department...Haven't read about one of them falling apart yet though...

There's some guys in central michigan that my dad knows who use them for off roading(mud and snow) who love them. Seem to hold up well for what they go thru. Don't know about highway driving. They are Jeeper and toyota guys if that helps.

Thanks for the info...I need something that will handle mud and snow. From what I have read so far, they are not too bad on the highway...Looking at the Guard Dogs, and have heard that they are not that noisy for their tread pattern. I think I am going to read some more..

Well I have a positive review. Buddy of mine had some. They lasted 3 years, 50,000 miles and still looked good when he took them off. One had a blow out from hitting a rock while doing some offroading tho. I am not saying you should or should not buy them because I am with Arctodus I would not want to put my wife or sons life at risk by putting a tire that has been re treaded on my truck because like he said they have a bad rep of coming apart on the highway. Semi trucks use re-treads and you see those blow out pieces about every 15 miles on the highway.

I do have a link however of my buddies truck doing some wheeling with the re-treads.
They are 285/70/17 Guard Dog M/T with a 2.5 inch lift in the fron and 2 inch rear lift.

Well, talked to my Dad last night and asked him, seeing as he owns a fleet of vehicles for his business. He told me he has run Treadwrights for the past several years now, and has nothing but positive results. He said that he has not experienced any blowouts or failures...(runs a fleet of 10 Chevy Vans, a Ford Econoline panel truck and a Chevy flatbed.) He said their customer service is top notch too....
