when at the track
hey so i had my truck to the track for the first time last night, which was a blast, I just have a few questions.
to start off all my times were in the 15's
my best time was 15.07 hitting 89.98mph at the 1/4
so some questions are
how can i get my track time down, i know gears will have to do with it and im not to familiar with them yet, and i have a 4x4 so it will be pricey too
i was running my truck in tow/haul is this a good idea or bad, i read some mixed reviews
i have a SC with the tranny mod so i have that all set to SC settings
i would assume that you could probably do costume settings to get better 1/4 mile times...maybe
if anyone had the ratio settings or a link to where i could find them would be great
any tips or advise would be great for getting better track times/ and not blowing my truck or tranny uo would be awesome thanks!
oh and if there are some good posts on this already a link would be sweet too

Smaller tires will simulate shorter gears. Tow/haul would hold the shifts longer. Seems a good idea. Reduce the weight - remove the tail gate, rear seat (if a QC), the spare tire, jack, minimal gas.

Are you shifting or just flooring it in drive? Also whenever I race my buddies I put it in 4 hi because you can disengage that while moving, it really helps me smoke em off the line, but don't leave it engaged the whole time! A bed cover has been proven in offroad adventures magazine to get 1.53 mpg better but idk if it'd make you quicker. 17" rims are helpful (lighter wait) . I'd drop the rear end down a little so that it could be level. Add octane booster to your gas tank. True dual cherry bomb glasspacks. True cold air intake ( routed down far enough to actually take in cold air, for example my friend took his foglights out of his mustang and has a k&n cone air filter on each side). Higher quality oil and filter. Better spark plugs and wires. Custom tune. Shift kit. Light weight racing battery. Drag radials with drag racing wheels- the wheels are just as important! Shot of NOS. If you wana go all out remove stuff like rear bumper, spare tire, tail gate, rear seats, jack, even hitch (if this is being made into a race truck that is)
