Default Dupli Color Shadow kit

I just picked it up today when I was getting my spark plugs. Has anyone used this already and have some pictures? I want to do my bumpers, grille and wheels. I'm sure I'll need more than one set for all of that but how much did you use for any of these things? Can I get away with at least the bumpers and grille with one set? And do you guys think it will blend in well with my black truck or will it be a noticeable difference?

I had originally bought this for my wheels, the kit will do all 4 wheels and you should have a little bit left. Spray even coats and keep track, no beer allowed! Anyway, i do not have pics as i painted over it with flat black cause the outcome ( with no beer involved) sucked, i was not impressed, never really got the gloss shadow black i wanted. I knew it would be an experiment so thus the reason why i tried. It will do the bumpers just fine. I have not seen your truck yet but the difference i am sure will be noticeable as the shadow is definitely a unique color. Good luck!! Test an area first.

Well I definitely over used the first kit since I went through a whole can and didn't even finish both bumpers lol. I love the look though. It doesn't match like you said but I like the look so far. I still have to put the clear coat on

I'm going to paint my rear bumper so it will kinda match the bumper up front. I can't decide if I should beeline it or just use spray paint. Also what kind of sandpaper did you use on the rear bumper?

No sandpaper at all with this kit! The paint has adhesion promoter in it so you don't ruin the shine of the chrome with sandpaper. I have pics but I'm just waiting until I'm all done to post them. Spark plugs are getting done first before I finish. I only have the grille left

Well before I do my rear bumper I plan on sanding it. What grit sandpaper should I use? I'm going to do bed liner btw.

There's a thread somewhere. I think you start coarse and move your way to fine grit though. Depends what you want the outcome to look like

Don't matter anymore I already went ahead and did it lol. I used 80 grit sandpaper which didn't do much and then sprayed the bedliner on. Looks cool to me

I was going to do this awhile back, just the cross-hairs, but becuz of the splatter issue I was having I just did my ThunderRoad emblems with the kit. They came out nice just like black chrome. I tried doing the chrome in my headlights the same way and maybe went 1 or 2 coats heavy and it got blotchy in spots but turned out decent just really black not crystal black like it should of.
3 or 4 lite coats max w/ 3 coats of clear works best...any less it looks like brake dust...any more and u might as well save some $ and just use gloss black.
Post up some pics I'll try to do the same.
