DEFINITELY go with the hemi, you will not regret it. You should have plenty of options with a 20k budget. Don't be afraid to get one with a few more miles than the one you posted, especially with a service history, these engines will run forever if you take care of it.

Carmax is pay what you see, at least that's what they say. You could probably haggle a few hundred, but you are not going to get far like at a normal dealership. Good luck, be sure to post up some pics when you get your new ride, we always love to see em!

Are you totally against buying from a private seller? Probably get more truck for your money that way. Never driven a 4.7 but i love my hemi.

Unless you just love dog smell, i would make the dealer get rid of it before committing to buy. The odors could be so deep in the seats and carpet, there is no getting it out. Thats why if i ever detect cigarette smell in anything, i just walk away.

My truck is a 2008 4x4 quad hemi with 54,000 when I bought it and it was listed at $18,900. I am in Northern VA so our pricing is pretty high, but to me the one you are looking at with the 4.7 and 2wd the price seems high in comparison.

Well from the looks of it the Hemi is the resounding way to go..

The hemi gets better mpg than the 4.7. The 4.7 has nothing better than the hemi. Just wanted to add that, but they are both excellent engines and will last you as long as you take care of em

Definitely negotiate or go to a car lot. I got my 06 hemi 4x4 slt lone star edition with 28k miles, a 4" suspension lift, aftermarket tires and rims, and it was $18,000

That's a nice looking truck. Good mileage. Seems a hair steep for being a 2wd. I dunno, maybe just me.

@04hemigreg: My truck reeked of cigarette smoke when I purchased it. Took me 2 weeks, and it's undetectable now. Used some kind of odor absorbing stuff from an industrial farm supply shop. There are ways to get rid of smell. I don't let that deter me ever. Cigarette burns are another story, however. Luckily there were none. At least the previous owner was a careful smoker. Lol.

Did locate this one. Same style and color. Do you all believe the Hemi is worth an extra 20,000 miles and a year on the truck?

Yes I do believe it is worth it depending on how much you drive. I've only put 20,000 miles on in 3 years so I could have been fine with a higher mileage truck and not cared. But these prices are still too high. Talk them down!
