Default Looking to be a new Dodge Ram owner

Hey guys. New to the forum and looking to be new to owning a Dodge truck. Been a Silverado driver my whole life and due to an unfortunate accident, I'm in the market for a new truck. My search has been going on for a few weeks here and I've fallen in love with the style of the Ram 1500's compared to the other 1/2 tons.

I live in Atlanta and found this truck at a local dealer. I've been as far as to test drive it and go check it out in person. The owner took great care of it with minimal scratches etc.., the only flaw being the overwhelming smell of dog in the truck but that should be easily cleaned up. Just wanted to see what you Dodge owners though about the price and the truck being offered. Obviously I will haggle a bit on the price, and I've heard the opinions of my friends and family who all have their own bias so I wanted to see what you all thought. Glad to be here by the way. Looking forward to owning a Dodge truck whether it's this one or another!

The price is way too high. My truck is the same year with less miles and a HEMI with mods and I would get maybe 16-17K for my truck in a private sale if I sold it to the right person. Talk them down to about 16,500 and it's worth it but for a almost 5 year old truck with a 4.7 and 2WD the price is just too much. Either talk them down or walk away

I have to agree with 08Hemi, not only does it have that prone to overheat 4.7, but its also an "ST" which is more of a stripped down model. In fact if those are 20" wheels the former owner probably had to buy those from someone else. GET A HEMI, if you don't you'll regret it later, and they get about the same gas mileage.

So a Hemi truck gets approx 16.5-17mpg on interstate travel? That's odd. I was just talking to a buddy of mine today who said his gets sub 13mpg at best.

It's not an ST, It's a Big Horn Edition as you can see from the pictures. Just another reason to steer clear of that dealership.

CCW your friend needs to go fix some things if he's getting 13 on the highway. Unless he's doing 90mph
