ok so i got a build sheet from dodge about a month ago. it said i have 3:55 gears, but i also have a tranny cooler mounted in front of my radiator. would this be an add on that someone could put on the truck because i thought the tow package had a higher gearing than 3.55's? it also says i have front and rear heavy duty shocks...is that normal on all the 1500 4x4's or is that for the tow package as well? i looked for the trailer connection too and all i have is for the normal light trailers (4 pin) not for like towing campers (7 pin)? connections. thanks guys.

 

Well everyone has a tranny cooler lol. It just depends what size yours is. I have the same one the 3/4 tons have (16 rows I think). The only one that people really add is the 1 ton cooler and you will notice that thing! Its like 28 rows

 

yeah mine isnt the big one, thats what i was wonering. like if theres a size difference between the tow package ones and the regular ones.

 

I have the tow package and it comes with the 3/4 ton cooler at least. So if you have less than like 16 rows on the cooler I would say you don't but if your build sheet says you have the tow package then I guess you do lol. I think you can have the tow package with 3.55s, it'll suck to tow I'm sure but you could

My guess is you don't have the factory tow package. One of the dead giveaways is the lack of 7-pin wiring connector. Doesn't mean you can't tow anything though.

 

I actually had to go back and check through my build sheet so I could make sure I have all that and I do! But I also have 3.92 gears

 

Me too ghemi. And i forgot to mention my build sheet also shows heavy duty shocks, although they were recently replaced with nitros.

 

I have the trailer towing package and have 3.92 gears, but I also have the 20" tires. I think the shocks are part of the package. I have both the 4 and 7 pin connectors, I also have an electric block heater, and I have never seen another gas truck with this heater. Anyone else have this option on their hemi or 4.7 truck

 

I do not. Can you see it or is just an electrical thing?
