Default Not Impressed: Superchips 3865

Got it in today and loaded the "87 Octane" tune since I had 87 in the truck. I felt zero zero improvement in performance or transmission firmness. I cant even muster an imaginary SOTP gain.

Did you reset the PCM after programming? Did you buy the trans tune from SC to tune the trans?

Why 87 tune? Why not 91/93 and and the 91 tune?

I didn't buy it for the increased octane tunes because I dont plan on buying 91 or 93 octane fuel. As far as trans adjustments, this is simply supposed to firm up the shifts from what I read................and it's pathetic. I think I'm just gonna sell it.

It will firm up the shifts if you get the tranny tune program with torque management. As long as you're 04+

And before you sell it, I suggest a tank of 91/93, 91 tune and change the shift schedule and torque mgmt... You wont ever want to go back.

You know that the mpg and power gains even out the extra money, which is about the same amount as a happy meal at mcdonald's, right? Put it on 91 and fill her up with premium, you won't be disappointed.

I wasn't all that impressed until I did the shift schedules with trans tune... It's night and day.

The SC 3865 doesnt come with trans tune by default

It isnt going to firm any shifts w/o that

You should have bought a Sonnax for $25-50 if you wanted to do that IMO
