Default Not a sport but want a sport look

I wanna paint the bumpers and the grill to match the paint of my truck like the sport versions. Has anyone done that or is it a bad idea? I wouldnt mind having to take it to a body shop to get it done but just dont know about it lasting in the long run?

done proffesionally at a credible shop it would last forever, the only thing is if you have plastic parts you want painted, some shops cut corners and dont use an adhesion promoter and in a few years; far after their warranty wears off, you can expect paint lifting up.

I just did this by painting my bumpers and grill with the Dupli Color Shadow kit. It's not an exact match but I didn't want one personally. But like nate said a body shop would be the best (and most expensive) route but I would just make sure they use adhesion promoter

Just keep in mind that rocks and debri take a toll in those areas over time. Yes it can be touched up but it shows. As long as you are okay with that 20-20 look (looks perfect 20 feet away at 20mph), go for it. They are hard to see, especially in pictures, but my front end is peppered with scars in areas that would have not been painted if not a sport. I bought mine off a lot. It came with 2 options i would not have ordered otherwise - sport trim and power foot pedals. I like the sport trim fine but could do without it and i never have found a need for power pedals.

Sure i have had paint touches done that has held up over time (with the exception of some bumper to road contact which occurs every now and then due to my 4/6 drop) Its not a sport but a paint theme is a paint theme.

All this talk about blacking out, and new bumpers kick started my butt into doing what I should have done a long time ago.

I bought this bumper off a guy who upgraded to an aftermarket one. cost a bit much, but I was dumb and had the cash. Put it on for a fitment try. This came off a 2500. So im glad it fit.

Also took off all badging and rocker arrows yesterday to start the black out procedure. Going to bed liner the sport bumper and rocker bend down. And will blast and liner the rear chrome bumper too.

More pictures up in a week or so.... I hope

are you gonna paint it black to match? Is your truck already a sport?

Talked to another shop and they want 500 just to do the grill and bumper and 250 to do the back bumper. Thats way more money then I was wanting to spend. I was hoping to spend 4 or 5 hundred for it all lol. I guess Ill never have a sport
