Default Winter Tire and Rims - Preferences

Yes I know it's only August, but in Canada we start thinking about these things sooner than most....

I have an 06 Laramie with the 20inch rims and I need new winter tires and do not plan on putting winter rubber on these.

The plan is to get 17 or 18 inch tires and rims to run in the winter.

Can anyone suggest a rim that looks good in that size but is durable and will stand up to salt, sand and all of the joys of winter driving? I don't want rust, or peeling and flaking rims after 1 or 2 seasons. Something Baja style perhaps, and black is good (presumably less maintenance too).

Also, what winter tires have people have good experiences with? I'm trying to keep the costs reasonable.

Thanks.

We call them wheels around here. A "rim" is what the boys in the hood call them lol. But Crager soft 8s would be the way to go. Strong, CHEAP, comes in black and looks good in my opinion

Ha. I'm no boy from the hood, more like boy from the woods.

Anyway thanks I'll take a look at those.
