Someone told me it was necessary for you to disconnect battery for a few hours after installing K&N filter in order for truck to re-calibrate and use the benefits of the filter.
Did you get the whole CAI system or just the filter? and either way it wont hurt it but you wouldnt notice a difference with just a K&N After a full CAI install it may actually have more of an effect to reset the pcm
You don't need to do it for hours. 30 mins I would say. If its the full kit then however long it takes you to install +15 mins should be good. If its just a drop in filter on the stock air box then no just change it out and go
