Default Bring faded plastics back to looking like new!

Here is a quick solution to bring faded and sun worn plastics back to looking new. I found this article when i was looking to do something about my severely weathered snowmobile gas tank.

go to your local hardware store and get a pint of pint thinner and a pint of boiled linseed oil. Mix them into a container at 60% thinner and 40% linseed oil. use a clean rag and rub it into the plastic. the effects are immediate!!! the article did say that it may take several coats over a couple of days for extended life, but it literally took 5 minutes!! it did note not to use on painted surfaces.

i did my door handles, mirrors, tailgate handle front grill plastics. Here is a pic of the tailgate handle before and after. The after pic is with one coat and a day 1/2 after application.

Cool! There is also an infomercial product out now that claims to renew stuff like that and last for extended periods of time. I can't remember what it is called and have only seen the commercial once. Perhaps the ingredients are the same as what you've posted.

Yeah I saw that commercial as well. It like an amour-all type product but claims to last for years and 100's of car washes.
That would be funny if it the same ingredients as stated by NYer. Lol

None of the stuff I used ever lasted so I pulled all the handles and trim and repainted them. Your after pic looks like mine repainted. Wish I knew about this earlier lol

I did the same thing about two weeks ago painted my
spears and side steps.
My spears were the same color of the truck but drivers side kept yellowing so I shot it black w/ trim paint.
