To the tech savy guys...
Ive been trying to look this up on google for the last hour with no luck and I can't be the first person out there that's had this thought but is it possible to use my phone gps and have it come up on the screen in my truck and play through the speakers so Im not having to watch and try to listen to the speaker phone on my cell phone? Either by bluetooth connection or a/v connection is it possible? Just trying to see if theres a possible way to save myself from having to buy a unit with built in gps or a high priced adapter.
aftermarket of course. Im looking into a doubledin head unit and the one im leaning towards doesnt have built in gps or have the expandable option. Im wondering if i can use the gps on my phone and have it show on the headunit and through the speakers?
no its an HTC but it still has sync function. Or maybe theres an app that i could get? it has the 3.5 mm jack and the micro usb. headunit has a couple av and usb connections
android 2.2 and there are a couple dif headunits that im looking at. Is there something specific that the headunit requires before it will work? If so that will help narrow down the choice

the pioneer and clarion unit both have gps expandability but to get the gps unit is almost as much as the headunit itself. Theres a sony that doesn't have the expandable option. Sony XAV-72BT/Clarion VX401/Pioneer AVH-P2400BT/Jensen VM9224BT/Kenwood DDX419-- These are some of the ones Ive been looking at. Ive noticed that the doubledin units have gotten a lot cheaper over the past year so and Id really prefer a DD to a 1D foldout. Also all of these have the option of a backup camera, which if you havent used one, they are great.
