Ha... that's awesome. I just wrapped my AC line with some aluminum duct tape, that works too though.

Dual purpose. Looks and function to keep the a/c hose protected.

He probably used it as a clamp by zip tying it at the bottom to keep the pipe from bouncing around.

I may be missing something here, but how is a license plate gonna protect the ac hose any better than the pvc touching it. Last time I looked PVC was very smooth, much smoother than that plate, so I see no protection from the plate at all, unless there is a junction under the plate that has a sharp edge

yeah, I wrapped my AC line, not the intake, with aluminum tape to protect it, you may have a point there, the plate may be worse than the pvc itself.
