Default Homebrew CAI and few other minor mods

So yesterday I got a little antsy and decided to go ahead and make my homebrew "C"AI. Rounded up some parts from the big orange warehouse and picked up some paint and filters from the parts store, this is what I ended up with, fun to make and came out nice I think.

I also decided since I had the paint to do my hood struts

And, while I was at it with everything apart, i threw together a power wire and put that on. Finished up last night, drove it this morning, wow that rumble is AWESOME! Love it. Overall marginal gains at best I would say for power but the sound is pure heaven, can't wait till I get the exhaust I want. You can sure hear it sucking air now!

thats sweet, i love the solid bend of the pipe. most have 2-3 pipes glued together but the single one with the bend looks the best and prolly flows more air seeing as how its a gradual curve rather than a 90 degree bend. it is gonna sound sick with an exhaust.

Thanks! its 3" schedule 40. I can't remember what the bend radius was, maybe 18". It's got a 3" side and then the other side would accept the 3" pipe, which makes it 4" on the outside, so a 4" id filter fit perfectly.

I should have detailed my question better, sorry, but going to the TB what inch did you get to hook up? A direct 3?

Yeah I reset. I had the battery unhooked while i worked on it, then i pulled the fuse just to be doubly sure

willdikem66: Yeah its a direct 3" to 3", seems to fit nice and snug. I'm not sure how you would do it without a fernco or something similar, that's basically what the stock box uses, well not really but its just compressed rubber anyways.

Where did you find that pipe!? That looks so legit and makes a DIY CAI look into a bought one. And do you plan on adding any brackets or is it stable how it is? Cause right now I'm using 3 brackets to keep my CAI from slipping off the TB when I hit hard bumps
