Squeezing as many miles as I can
I still have my original window sticker and it says fuel economy is 13 city/ 17 highway. Amazingly, with about 1500 lbs of added weight, 35" tires, etc., etc., this is almost what I get to this day. I usually hand calc damn close to 17 on trips and my average combination driving is usually in the 14-15 mpg range...
BTW - EPA estimates are based on polls. The EPA only actually tests about 10% of vehicle models on the market - usually only if there are well above average complaints of a particular vehicle getting substantially lower MPGs than the manufacturer's rating. Basically, EPA estimates are for sh*t...
