Do i really need to dyno tune after 260 comp cam?

Default Do i really need to dyno tune after 260 comp cam?

Hi everyone, i have an 05 Dodge Ram hemi and i have a k&n cai, pace setter shorty headers, 3in dual side swept exaust, diablo sport intune tuner and i purchased a 260 comp cam and springs.. ive heard from alot of ships i need to dyno tune it after the cam install.. so i call diablo and the guy is a d*** on the phone, sayin i need to get it dyno tuned and the programmer is no good to me after the cam is installed.. i called comp and they were shocked to hear about my phone call with diablo.. i had one shop tell me i didnt need to have the dyno tune after install.. im not sure who to trust now.. any help is greatly appreciated!

I would think to get maximum performance from your cams it would be best to get a custom tune

custom tune is recommended but a lot of folks run the 260 with a canned 91 performance tune.

Cool thing is you have an 05, that is arguably one of the best years for tuning. You'll get max benefits from your cam with a dyno tune.

one of the octane preconfigured tunes that come with the programmer.
