I didnt know that some of the 4.7's out there have 16 plugs. i remeber my old ranger had 8 plugs as a way of controlling emmisions as it didnt have any kind of egr system, but my 03 4.7 has just 8. does this have something to do with an egr fucntion or the mds on the newer rams?

 

'08, I think. I suspect Chrysler realized how much it cleaned up the emissions on the Hemi, so they redesigned the 4.7 I don't think the 4.7 has MDS.

 

i found out that when the 4.7H/O came out, that when the 16 plugs started, as stated on the history of the 4.7 engine on wikipedia. and apparently, the tolerances these engines bottom ends are made to are that of race engines. learned a lot about the old girl on there.

 

Should have been 2008 when the engine was revamped. 8 on top and 8 on the bottom changed at different intervals

 

it just said 08, could been talkin bout the cars too. theres a lot of info on there, i outta go back and check for sure.

 

i mean i meant to say the 08 4.7H/O is when the hemis got 16 plugs, i think. some stuff contradictes each other on there.

 

It's the 08 and up 4.7s. Only the Rams and Grand Cherokees have this engine. Although I don't know if the 08 up GC even have it
