Default How to make straight pipe exhaust sound cleaner?

I really don't want to put a muffler on because I'm afraid it will make my exhaust quieter. Right now I have cats in just muffler cut off at in-end. The pipe just sits a bit past where the bed starts with no tips or anything. Is there something I can do to make it have more pop and not sound like air pissing out the exhaust when not under load?

getting some dump tips might help. Really though a muffler is your best bet. The cherry bomb extremes are nice and loud. There are others too, you could always get a glasspack, that'd be loud.

Cam that b*tch! It'll sound like a drag car at idle!

If it sounds like it's pissing air at idle you got other problems.

Truck runs fine nothing is wrong with it. I meant at a certain rpm range if you have a straight pipe you know what I mean. At idle and taking off from stops it sounds bad ***. I put a cherry bomb glass pack on it a while back and it was very quiet compared to straight.

Eh not really, If You Dump a Mullfer odds are you will lose some power.
And if he just Stuck Tips on there dumped it would be even louder.

I have been running straight pipes with cats for a while now and magnaflow and flowmaster couldnt touch it, Where the Muffler goes i have a 2.5 inch Y and 2.5 inch pipe the rest of the way put to the bumper. i like the sound alot but there are some RPMs that could be cleaned up.

I personally hate pipes ran out the back so i have mine as far as they will go but they are tucked away out of view

What size glass pack tho? The shorter the louder mines 12'' and it's not much quieter than straight pipes

I didn't think of that...the one I got was probably 2 feet? I really couldn't tell a difference in noise level from stock with that thing on there just a different sound.

I'm looking for a low rumble, not a loud soundtrack. Would splicing in a glass pack work for this? Or should I be looking at mufflers?
