Default Shock questions.

Iam wondering If I can get away with putting the front shocks out of a 2500 into my 1500. The person who owned it before me tweaked the torshion bars, and the stock shocks are pretty much fully extended/blown haha. I wanna say the nose is sitting up about 2 inches higher than it should be. I like where its sitting, feels like Im towering over everybody. Any input would be awesome.

They should fit, spent a good chuck of time at auto zone today, busted out a front shock from an 02 1500 and an 02 2500 they look the same. The rears are different.

If they do fit, they are probably going to be a stiff ride as the 2500 is a heavy duty truck.

Are you getting them for free? If not i'd just but new ones, they aren't that expensive relatively speaking, you could get the bilistein adjustables for like 80 a piece and regular ones for 35-50 depending on what brand you go with. If the 2500's are free, might not be a bad deal, but like arcdotus said, it'll stiffen up your ride. Although if your current ones are maxed out, anything with some travel will feel better.

Im gonna get a set of bilistein's, front and rear. Right now I got a cheap set of shocks in the rear, and the fronts are some random black shocks with a "made in brazil" stamped on em....... So with the adjustables in the front, I could tweak em to make em a lil softer or stiffer.. right??

the bilstein adjustable shocks are height adjustable, so no not really stiffness. I don't think you will be disappointed if you go with those though, everyone seems to like em. It's the 5100 series that is the adjustable ones btw.

^^
Ewing you're thinking of the Bilstein 5100's for 06+ (coil over) 4x4's. the op has a 02 with torsion suspension. they don't make a height adjustable 5100 series for the torsion suspension trucks.

if your wanting to adjust the feel of the suspension you might look into Rancho 9000 series. they have an adjustable feature to dial in the "feel" your looking for.
