Lift Kits
What kits are my fellow 3rd gen 4x4 guys using? The fiance is going to buy me a kit for Christmas and I am wanting everyone's opinion on their kit and possibly what y'all think is the best kit.

Depends how crazy you want to get lol. Good companies though are Rough Country, Rancho, Skyjacker, Pro Comp I think is still good, Full Throttle, BDS, CST, Superlift ( I think thats only SFA though).
I researched the hell out of suspension lifts before buying mine in '05. Having only done body lifts before this one I wanted to do it right.
I found that if you are only doing it to stuff bigger tires and for "looks" than bargain kits are ok, but if you plan on using your truck as a truck then you get what you pay for.
Higher end kits have full sub-frames as opposed to just a single or dual crossmember for support. Higher end kits replace many stock components with larger/stronger ones (such as tie rods/ends/etc.), while less expensive kits leave these smaller/weaker stock components in.
I found that based on this, the strongest kits were the Rancho in 4" and the Skyjacker in 6". Understandably, they are also at the upper end of the price scale...

I was leaning toward the Rancho kit, but looked at BDS, Skyjacker, Procomp, and Fabtech but was just unsure if those were good kits. How do you like your Rancho kit Hammer?

Love it... Don't ride hard off road (getting too old for that sh*t) but I am off road a lot working around the farm property/hunting and fishing. To date I've had one issue and that was one of the tie rod ends split a boot and got sand in it and basically was shot.
FIVE YEARS after I bought the kit, yet when I called Rancho to buy a new one, they not only sent a replacement under warranty BUT sent another for the one on the other side even though it was fine AND sent them Fed Ex - at no cost to me.
Very impressed with their customer service!!!

i have also wondered about the zone kit, seem as though since they are their own distributer that the word about them is scarce and they dont advertise, I'm waiting to see a review as to wether or not it's a quality kit.
