Who likes reinforcing their frame?
Is that bumper plate just being supported by those 2, 3 foot round bars welded back underneath the engine?
Hows the light output on those side lights. The picture doesnt give them justice, Im assuming.

The bumper plate is welded on 3 sides, it sits in front of a full rectangle support, with two bars supporting the bottom and two bars supporting the top. (The two bars that o through the bumper valence, back to the 1/2 crossmember, which is supported by 6 pipes and the 1/2 skidplate.
The light output is 5200 lumens each, and they are bright as hell. They're really bright, especially because normally people cant see to the sides. I had two encounter already where I really needed light output on the side but didn't have it, so I puld the trigger and got these.
One time I was searching for a thief after he an out of the gas station I was at, the other time I went hunting for a Trailblazer that "tried" to run me off the road.

and here is all of them at once:

I like the reinforcements alot! I've been thinking doing the exact same to mine when I build a new bumper! Its kinda funny how you can easily take out a car with a winch bumper but a big deer can bend it like nothing.
That sounds cool, post up the pics in here when you make it!
They showed on TV the other night an older Cadillac and a newer Cadillac hit head on with accelarometers in them the older caddy would have killed ya due to being so stiff (no crumple zones) the newer one even though lighter and smaller had numbers that showed you could survive the head on in it.. In your case the air bags should help some.. as for the Idea I like it. Becarful the police will NOT though.. If you are in an accident insurance will not cover you if they find out about the modifications.. My biggest concern is the extra weight in the front wont it sink like a rock off road?
Gotta reinforce that frame!!
Your work looks great, don't worry about the peanut gallery. I hang over 800lbs (dynamic loading numbers are obviously much higher) off my front end every winter with no issues. We've got some pretty strong trucks.

Thanks Dubl0Vert! Looks like some reinforcement right there. Before I did all this, I considered just buying a plowmount, but look how it is now:
These are my 3/4" D-rings, welded to my 1/2" front deflector plate, which is welded to the light bar a numerous 1/4" thick support bars:

I also designed and fabbed a new style front bar:

All the joints are inner sleeved with thick piping, I left the welds instead of grinding them
Here are the d rings in the rear, I boxed the fram in with 3/8" thick plates to add support for the massive hooks:

I'll update soon. 1/2 inch plating and 21' (yes, that's feet) of bar for the rear end are coming very soon, also a small addition to the front bar

The welds on the D-ring pad look very cold, also looks like it was welded vertical down. Vertical down welding gives less penetration and a cold weld won't help that any. Hope you don't have to depend on the rings holding much.
