Goodyear wrangler Duratrac
Looking at the Cooper ST Maxx and the General Grabber AT2 as two other choices. Leaning toward the ST Maxx right now. May go look at them tomorrow. The side wall issue is the one that keeps coming up with the Duratracs. Also have read where a bunch of people have had issues with gravel drilling with the Duratracs. Kinda a shame really as it is one killer snow tire.
The Duratrac was actually not my first choice. Due to several different factors, availability being a big one, it was just the tire that was there when I needed to replace my old ones. I really wanted the Cepek FC II's, but for a variety of reasons I was unable to go with them over here. I have nothing bad I can personally say about the Goodyear tires right now, though, aside from initial cost! i'm not too rough on my truck and no longer tow boats and trailers or haul motorcycles and gear around and put all sorts of extra weight on the tires, so I'm not too worried about the sidewall issues. I can't say that it isn't in the back of my mind all the time, though...
I had my heart set on the Cooper ST Maxx for a while, as well, but just couldn't get them over here. There might have been a rating issue, as well, but IIRC I just couldn't get the Coopers shipped for a reasonable price. They are very nice tires, though, and I haven't read anything bad about them.
Had 275/70/R18 Cooper ST Maxx tires put on today. The shop is giving 500 miles/30 days to test them out. Had to have them write it on my receipt as they don't normally offer it with off road tires. Took them out in the snow today and so far I like them a lot. Looks pretty sweet as well.
Nitto terra Grappler, General Grappler,Discover A/TS, Cooper ST maxx or something better for mainly highway a little offroad and gravel when go ATV riding. Pavement the rest of the time. 265/70,17 size. Which is cheapest and best life. Tires are expensive and want to get this right the first time..

Like.. Nitto..Toyo..cooper..General tire..
Hate..Goodyear, Firestone aka bridgestone and BFG..even the All Terrian!!
My work truck went in for 245 70 17 Good year duratracks, load range E for a 2010 2500 gmc, all most 1,700.00 cdn. not my bill to pay, passed of to the tax payers!!
Now Dodge is putting crappy Firestone destination tires on the new 2500 Rams instead of the mega crappy BFG R/T TA, no more michelins ( owned by BFG or visa versa)
I had a set of Firestones on the GMC, they were shot in 50.000 km, 30%on road use.
