Default only 1 resonator on 07 hemi?

Bear with me as I but I was told the 07 hemi rams have 2 resonators, 1 before and 1 after the stock muffler. My truck is completely stock but there's only the one after the muffler...I'm so confused.

I was planning on keeping the one before the muffler and replacing the muffler & 2nd resonator so the MDS wouldn't sound like poo, but now I don't know what to do! Please help me guys, I just want this thing make some kind of noise but not be crazy loud or droning....

Should I just replace the stock muffler and keep the only resonator?

My stock layout:

manifolds - cats - Ypipe - muffler - resonator - tailpipe

I believe early build 07's had two like the 06's but obviously late 07's-08's did away with front one. I kept both on @ 1st w/ a 18"magnaflow and it sounded better than stock especially @WOT, but decided to get rid the tailpipe and dump out in front of the rear wheel and it sounds even better with very little drone. I would try a straight through muffler (Magnaflow) instead of a chambered one(flowmaster) if your worried about drone or install a resonator pre muffler. You've got lots of options and a good muffler shop should stear you in the right direction.

Thank you for responding, Paul!!!

My truck was built in early March of 2007 so that would be toward the model-year-end correct?

I was looking at the Thrush Turbo or the Cherrybomb Vortex but now I don't know whether to keep the one resonator I have or not!

I might have to just leave it on at first, see if I like it, then cut it off if I don't. Thank you again for responding!

If you're after a little more sound just cut the res off and weld in a piece of pipe that's where I started with mine it cost me 25$ at the local shop. I highly recommend doing your intake first tho it will blow your mind how much racket it will make without that HemI hat etc.. just my opinion tho I learned the hard way, first Got rid of my res and it wasn't loud enough then straight pipes was too loud finally put a glass pack in and got the sound I was after.

Yeah I just want some rumble, not crazy loud. So I should try keeping the stock muffler and just cutting off the resonator? I'm gonna call my exhaust guy tomorrow (hope he's open).

I thought about a DIY cai, made one for my old 4.7--can't decide whether to make one or get an ebay one.

So now you just have the cats and glasspack? How's it sound when the MDS kicks in (if you didn't disable it)?

I don't have mds so I'm not sure , my setup is 2 cats 1 glass pack split into two tail pipes and it's berry loud. Exhaust options are endless it all depends on what you're after , from the post I think eliminating the res would be the logical thing to try but as far as performance and better flow ,that's a totally different ballgame.

I would eliminate your muffler and leave the resonator. The muffler is huge and sound restrictive.
I have an oval bodied 18" Magnaflow with no resonator and sound is very mellow.
