Dodge will under no circumstances change the programming on your truck to ignore the cats... you are violating federal law, and if the shop manager is a real D**k, he'll just report it to the federal government/local cops and you'll get a huge ticket in the mail. (seen it happen during a nasty warranty denial claim)
If you remove the Cats you may see undesirable results.... if you're going to do it you will need to fool the O2 Sensors into thinking a Cat is still there, and there are tons of threads on that all over the internet.
Next thing you will need is a custom aftermarket tune, to make the DTCs go away as well as give you any chance at some kind of power gain, but simply taking them off wont help anything.

with a question like that, you must be a noob. the cats are there for a reason. you will never get the reselts you want. only if you dump a bunch of cash in the intake and fuel department too. removing the cats will affect the back pressure and will lose power and increased fuel cost. thats is all your going to acheive by doing that.

lol not even close to a noob dude, i never asked about back pressure issues i just wasn't sure if it would detune like when diesels acid empties they de-tune.
and if the code can be erased by a good tuner or comp so emissions comp systems wont pick it up come smog time.
not worried about power, i want to be able to weld in some burns stainless exhaust v-band clamps for quick removal on my off roading weekends, trucks not loud enough for me

unless you use force pass readiness you will still fail emissions and if you live in Cali I wouldn't even suggest that you do this EVER! You will end up with your truck impounded and like $5,000+ in fines + impound fees...
I still don't think it's a good idea personally, as it's a worthless modification and there is so much more you can do with your time and money that will benefit you more.
