Default Leaky Rear Power Sliding Window Seals, Where to buy?

After reading many, many posts on several forums concerning water leaks around the rear window. I narrowed my leak down to leaking seals around the sliding power window and I have read post from several that have had my problem. Thanks to the good information that I received I have unplugged the tiny drain holes found about 6.5 inches from each corner of the rear window, which helped, but the drain holes cannot keep up with the leak.

I have searched for a source to purchase those seals. My Ram dealership parts desk could not find a part reference for just the seals, however, I have read post on this forum that the seals were replaced by the dealer...???...so surely someone makes and sells these seals.

I have noticed that these "seals" are very similar to window sweeps or dew wipes as used on side auto windows...does anyone know?

If parts are not available for these sliding windows, perhaps someone can tell me who makes these power sliding windows for Dodge so that I can contact them for seals

Default Seals

I've had enough water in the bins, I'm taking truck in today to have solid 1 piece rear window installed.

How much is that going to set you back, Wadejesu? I have thought about that, but I have not inquired as to the cost for a good looking solid backlite.

I just hate to lose an option that can be useful when I carry something long or want the added ventilation....but like you I am either going to do that or buy goldfish....

I just cannot believe that no one on these forums have ever had to replace these seals, window sweeps or whatever those rubber things are....or at least know who could help us find a supplier.

I remember reading something a while back about leaks and it said to just silicone something. Sorry, I don't remember what all it said or where exactly it was but I think it was in the DIY section.

Has anyone replaced the lower channel on the rear sliding backlite? Does the entire window have to be removed? Does the lower channel include the sliding window sweep or seal??

Thanks!

I think it may be a random defect/issue in the window. I have the manual window in the back and it leaked as well. Took it too dodge at least three times before I had to go back with the SM and water test the window with him. Still after Silicone in the 3rd brake light and a removal and re-installing of the window it still leaked and then dodge install a new back window, under warranty at the time, and it has not leaked since.

Thanks for the replies. I give up, I have just siliconed the window shut. It is ashamed because I did like to use it from time to time.

If anyone comes up with a source for those window sweeps please post it! Once again, it is the window sweep / wipe / seal that runs along the outside bottom and sides of the power sliding rear window. That rubber seal does not appear to be a part of the lower channel except that it may be inserted into the upper part of it...but it appears to be secured above the lower channel.

If anyone removes one of these windows maybe they would be willing to post some photos showing how these window sweeps are installed into the window frame..... I have read more than a few post on the various Ram forums related to this particular problem....so it would be worth more investigation.

Thanks!
