I've been driving a 2002 4.7 quad cab (4x4) the last couple years, and it just was not enough truck for me (1500).

So this weekend I traded it for a 2006 2500 MegaCab, 5.9, 51k miles.

What a difference, I liked the the 4.7, it was sufficent, but barely so. The 5.9 is a huge step forward, I can be in 5th gear (6 speed manual) and hit the accelorator at 60 and I'm at 70 before I know it.

This is my first diesel rig, gonna take some getting used to, but so far, I love it!

Yea better take care of that thing. Those 5.9s are the most sought after engine in the automotive world. Good find and good luck. Definitely jealous as well!

 

The 2006-2008 5.9 mega cab diesel is the exact truck I want next!

2007.5 is the end of the 5.9 unfortunately

 

2006-2007.5 then. I've heard nothing but good stuff about that one.

 

I will also be upgrading to a TD rig after I pay this truck off...
