Tire Heigh/Width.
A tad frustrated, i found a some what helpful article on the forums, but... not quite what im looking for.
Cant find an ansewer worth s***,
anyway, heres the run down. after getting **** customer service at discount to figure out some tire sizes (they stated 33's wont fit even with a leveling kit and its not their problem..), basically what im doing is putting a 2 inch leveling kit on my front end (get a better look going on) - 2002 Dodge ram 1500 short bed 2wd. I have the stock chrome 17 inch wheels. I would like to go 35 inch tall, or around there BUT i read up that you cant go wider than 12".
315/70/17 wouldn't work as im assuming since they are over that 12.
so ?/?/?
i could live with 33's since they are a tad cheaper, but looking to get a professional opinion and a clean look.
All the threads i've found are aftermarket wheels, 18 inchs, 20 inches.. etc. and a tire fitment guide doesn't help to the fullest - a little novice.

You'll have to settle for less than 12.5" wide because the stock 17s have a backspacing and offset that will make a tire that wide rub when you turn the wheel. I had the same issue with my 20s when I got my lift. I had to get wheel spacers to fit the wheels back on so when I got new tires (275/65R20) I stuck with the original width which is 11" (for the record 1 inch is 25mm so 315/25= ~12.5 inches). But whoever you talked to doesn't know jack about our trucks because 33s are the stock tire on 20s so they fit without modification. If you're only leveling (sidenote: my personal opinion would be lift spindles instead of a spacer or leveling kit) 33s will still look fine as 35s will fill up the wheel well and make the tires look stuffed under there.
