Some may remember my wife and I bought an 08 3.7L with 55k miles 4 months ago-it's now a little over 60k miles. The factory sticker says 15/19 for mileage. My wife uses the truck as a purely commuter vehicle for her 74 mile r/t to work and back. There is a 5 mile 5-12% grade(both sides going to and from Bisbee to Sierra Vista) over the mountain to Sierra Vista and back in mix. Last tank she got 22.9 mpg and is averaging 22.7 mpg overall. Her high tank was 24.1 mpg and her low was 21.5 mpg. It's not a fast truck and being a regular cab/short bed with 10 ply Kuhmos, it rides very harshly on our 1 1/2 mile dirt road/driveway, but otherwise, it has been ideal. I would recommend the 3.7L/6 speed manual to anyone who wants a full size truck with compact truck mileage. Chrysler hit this model out of the park. If you ain't towin', you don't need a Hemi. And if the new 3.6L is even better, by God, a new Ram is definitely going to be bought within a year.
