Default Lifting my 06' RAM

i own an 06' dodge ram 1500 and i'm thinking about lifting it from the stock ride height. I don't want it super duper high as if i'm focused on rock crawling or something. I just want to raise it up maybe an inch or two. I'm guesstemating that i'm currently standing about 2-3 inches off of the front tires and maybe 4-5 inches off of the back tires. I'm aware that high lifts affect vehicle stability, so i want to be at a height where i'm still stable.

I also want to know what's a good reputable brand that goes well with dodge?? I'm even thinking of going with some air shocks, incase I want to ride low at times and maybe even lay frame.
Any suggestions from my RAM FORUM FAMILY??

Your input will be greatly appreciated.

First of all. 2wd or 4x4? Not to sound like a d*ck towards (seriously I don't lol) you but I wish the forum would read the post before you submit it and ask "I see you've mentioned lift/lower but did not specify truck specifics such as 2wd/4x4, engine, year, etc.". For the future, if you're going to ask questions make sure you give us as much info as possible so we can help you out faster.

ok, thats whats up. I can digg where ur coming from. Tell me this tho, what does my engine size and all of that other ish have to do with the question i asked?? Not that i'm ashamed to give out that type of information about my ride, but I figured the only thing that mattered was the suspension upgrade that I needed, the lift that I currently have on there and how high i'm interested in going. i guess i couldve told u that i have a RWD. So maybe u could teach me more about the info i might need to know about, and why. Again, not only am i new to this forum sight but i'm also new to doing any type of suspension upgrades. I usually deal with motorworks, and I just put new struts on my ride. I usually put things back to factory set and specs when i'm working on a vehicle. So, chill out my nizzle and go get urself a good piece of luvin so u can become more calm. I wont get on this thing and beef with u, so help if u can. If not, just miss me with the attitude. cool??

Thanks for ur response too. I really appreciate u.

by the way, i did input a lot of the info that u requested 08HEMI1500. I have the 3.7L Magnum engine in it. So, which way do u think I should go. I need a good suspension that I can depend on. Like I said before, I'm even thinking of going with air shocks so I can lower and raise whenever I want. Holla back at me, and tell me what u think and why. ????

Sometimes the engine can come into play due to the weight (obviously the 5.7 weighs more then the 3.7) and some companies will request this same info. The year and drivetrain are the most important to know though because the 02-05 2wd and 4x4s are different from the 06-08 2wd and 4x4s. But since you have a 2006 3.7L 2wd I can recommend for you the 3 inch lift spindles from airbagit (google airbagit and search for lift spindles and then your year truck). They are about 300 and will raise the front end only 3inches which will make your front end level with your back end. Then if you want to go higher after seeing that I would suggest a body lift (they come in 1, 2 and 3 inches). These are the cheapest, yet safest routes to take for your truck assuming you're not offroading which you said you aren't. Again, I wasn't trying to sound rude in my original post.

Lol no worries 08HEMI1500, were cool man. I appreciate your input on my truck lift project. How are u so knowledgeable about lifting ur ride?? u must have done a few dodge lifts in ur time huh?? Like I said before, I'm new at doing lift upgrades. I'm kind of nervous about replacing coils and all. I'm not to fond of hard automotive parts popping off and hittin me in the face and ish. lol Allow me to ask u this additional question if u dont mind. Usually when I see a truck lifted, i see heavy duty bars going across the undercarriage, like some type of frame reinforcement. I'm sure it has something to do with stability, but do u think thats something i might have to invest in, or look foreward to with the lift that i'm trying to achieve?? Or is it a certain height that a truck must go beyond before the frame reinforcement is necessary?? Holla back at me.

Lol you give me too much credit. I've just been a member on here for a couple years and when I was looking to lift my truck I was asking all the same questions. In fact, I bought my lift kit off of a member on here. Just do some reading around and you see where I get all my info from. As for the bars you are reffering to I believe I know what you're talking about but the name of them escapes me right now. I will say that you will only really find them on trucks that have complete suspension lift kits (I have them). The are mainly used because in the top dollar kits you get either a subframe or a new front crossmember which helps keep all the suspension parts in close to stock locations while still lifting the truck so you dont add undue stress and wear. As for what they actually do, I can't really tell ya lol. They're a pain to me because I feel like I'm gonna snap one one of these days

LOL ok, I got u. Let me ask u this then. Did u install ur lift kit on ur truck urself, or did u have a shop do it?? how much of a lift do u have on ur truck?? did u have to do anything special to ur driveshaft since u've had the lift?? maybe install a longer driveshaft or what??
