I have an 06 regular cab 1500 Ram V6.


I am brand new to all of this. I was told to try for either Magnaflow and Flowmaster. I looked up quite a few vids today and came to like the magnaflow.

Anyways I am trying to figure out which one is the best to get and how best to install it. The current muffler on it is 30 inches long, round body, center 3in inlet, offset outlet.

Here are the ones that I have found.

Also what would be the difference in sound be between putting a turndown right at the outlet of the exhaust before the axle or having it come out with a normal tip as it is now?

I have also seen a lot of talk about a different y pipe giving airflow less restriction. Would I just order any old magnaflow 3in y pipe or is there certain things to look for?

None of your links work for the record but idk about the V6 but the 5.7 is 2.5 in and 3 out I believe.

Something quiet if it is a V6. Only a V8 should be loud in my opinion.

Magnaflow is the superior muffler by far. The longer, the better.

You can go to their site and email them for the best fit for your truck. The Kit for my 08 Hemi uses a 24" muffler I believe. 3" in, dual 2.5" out.

 

Thanks lxman. I definitely have my choice set on magnaflow. I dont want a loud raspy sound when it revs up but am looking for a low drone sound.
