2005 Ram Laramie 2wd - Air suspension conversion - Stock or lift.
Hi, I've searched these and other forums to try to find information. I have a 2005 Ram Laramie, 2wd, 20" rims. I am trying to research how to convert the front and rear suspensions to airbags. I don't want to drop the height; I would like to keep it stock, or lift/level (just a little, if at all). This is where I'm having the problems finding information. I found some tall lift-kits, and tons of drops, but nothing for stock/leveled ride-heights. I'm not sure what the proper terminology is for what I'm wanting to do. I find tons of information for lowriding and for helper bags.
Goals for this are:
1. I would like a more supple ride, without losing handling. I'm a home-brewer, and sometimes carry more glass bottles of beer, mead, and homemade sodas than would fit in the cab.
2. Able to drop the rear a bit for bike loading, and other heavy parts/equipment. (Not as easy to find a dip or drop to back the rear tires into, in all locations.)
I would assume that the rear would need to be converted from leafs to a 4-link or panhard setup. I know the basic parts needed would be the pump, tank, regulators/valves, hoses, electrical, and controls. I'm hoping there is either a kit, or advice on what the process and rough-costs would be if I were to take it to a custom-shop.
Or, as is more likely the case, am I barking-up the wrong tree?
Thanks.
