Default Rhino Liner on brush guard, fr and rear bumbers?

Hey y'all,

looking to get a couple of things done to my 2003 Ram 1500 5.9L 4x4, namely, I don't like the chrome look on the bumpers and the brush guard that came with it. I'm thinking about getting them sprayed with Rhino Liner or Line-x, but I'm wondering about the durability on chrome. I've heard of people using plastidip, is this a valid alternative method is you're not willing to spend the money?

Also, what are your thoughts on how this would look?

Thanks in advance

i think it would look good. I plasti-dipped mine to see how I liked the look, did both bumpers and the grille, it has actually lasted pretty good, eventually I will do it in bedliner though. Probably do a diy spray job with raptor liner or something similar.

Yeah I know that option would be a heck of a lot cheaper for sure, have you had any issues with flaking or chipping? How long have you had the plasti-dip on?

The grille has had a few spots that flaked off, the bumpers have held up really well. I've had it on for about a year and a half. It was always meant to be temporary, but since it's held up so well and I don't have the $$ right now to do it, im just waiting to do it it bedliner. I also did my wheels in plastidip, one of those finally flaked off, so I am going to re-paint them. Once i get that done I will figure out what to do with my bumpers and such.

You really don't have much to lose if you want to do it in plastidip, for 25 bucks or so, you can't really go wrong. If you don't like it, peel it off. It'll give you a good idea of the look for a cheap price that is semi-permanent but also reversible.

Great Idea, I think I'll probably do that first. Thanks for the info!

I used SEM for mine. Best thing you can do to a truck. And when you wash it the bug guts and everything else comes right off.
