Default steering shake

so i have had my nitto terra grappler on the rear last year no problem put them on the front this year in march as a rotation ( i dont run that rim and tire combo in illinois winter ) anyway i had a steering wheel shake here in july so i took the 2 rims and tires to get rebalanced and one was 8 0z out of ballance and the other was 18 oz off balance does this seem like it makes any sence ? why would i of never felt that before? anybody with knowledge please chime in ? rims and tires are clean and maybe only have 6000 mile on them , im yet to put them back on and try it , the dealer took all the weight off and started over to balance . wow what a lot of weight , i watched and at the end machine said OK !!!!! hope that is good

Imo nitro terra are a cheaply made tire. I had a set on my rig and similar to you couldn't get them to balance. Had my buddy at the tire shop remove them from the rims and do a full inspection, two of them were seperated! The cords are made from cheap steel and it stretches over time and snaps inside the sidewall reducing the tires structural strength and its a hazard when driving, never know when it will blow. I bought hankook dynapro mt's, good aggressive mud tire at a reasonable price. Hope that helps, good luck.

Thanks for the feed back. Everyone knows those tires were like a crack crave a few years back that's all you read about. Terra grappler here grappler there. So I did I it too. ! To me the tire is ok and that was my first impression was that I had a belt shift. Well I'm yet to put them back on so we will see when I do. The bad part is with my set up the darn tires are more expencive than the rims. And they only have 6,000 miles on them. Maybe time to tire shop ? Thanks again

Well got the tires back on today and no shimmy no shake yet. One tire was 8 oz out of balance and they said the other was 18oz. Seems crazy but when done machine said ok and I mounted them seem to be fine so far. Thanks guys
