Default Help Choosing Exhaust System

I have a 2007 1500 with the Hemi. I love this truck but I have always wanted it to really grumble down the street and sound as powerful as the engine is. What should I do for the exhaust system? I have heard that some mods sound terrible due to the engine dialing down but sound great when all the cylinders are kicked in. I would very much like to avoid this.

What muffler or cat system should I look for? The louder and most bass grumble the more my wife will love it.

Thanks for any help!

I have a Magnaflow catback. Dual side exit w/18" oval muffler. It has a nice deep ruble at idle but could be a little louder going down the road.
MDS will be annoying no matter what. If you want to get rid of the annoyance, buy a tuner and disable the MDS or use O/D OFF or Tow/Haul modes. Both disable MDS.

I also suggest the Magnaflow... I have it on my truck... sounds phenomenal... I get compliments and questions about what is it all the time.

I believe this is the one that is on my 2008:

I'm in the same boat as the OP, looking for a 14 or 18inch magnaflow but not the full catback system. Many people seem happy by just welding in a new Y pipe and a muffler. I want to this and keep the two stock resonators. I've been searching and cannot find anyone with this set up on a 2006-2008. Does anyone know how the drone is with a 14in or 18in Magnaflow Single in Single out with this set up?

Hell just put a y pipe in 6 inches pass the last o2 sensor with duel straits out the side in front of the rear tire. That's wat I have on mine n it looks n sounds great even tho its a 4.7 n its a helps lot cheaper.

a youtube search is what I would do. look for your model and engine and watch the hundreds of exhaust clips on the interweb
