Just started working with a boss again that I worked with 2 years ago. He has a 2002 ram 1500 quad cab 4.7 auto 4wd. He's in the market for a diesel and I was thinking about buying his truck from him. Has 201k miles with a rebuilt motor about 25k ago. I believe the tranny is original he tows a 10k lb enclosed tandem axel trailer tp a job site or two a week. He bought the truck with 27k on it. Is there anything to look out for on them and what are the chances of needing a tranny rebuild soon. I wouldn't plan on towing or hauling with it as much as he does. Feels like it shifts smoothly.

I can probably work out a deal for 1000 down and work the rest off with labor. It was a work truck do it has its dings and such. What do you think it's worth. He was going to get a trade in quote and work with me from there.

It's a florida truck so no rot on it.

That's all up to you. When buying used you always take that chance. Just make sure you have it covered for repairs should any come up
