Hemi high milage
I am looking at a 2005 Ram 2500 4x4 quad cab with the Hemi. Body is in almost perfect shape it was an old AT&T truck runs great and drives tight my only concern is it has 280,000. They are asking $6500 I think I can get it for less but what are your guys thoughts would like to hear what you think
hey i bought a 2005 1500 with about 112,000 now i know it is not as much as that, but i looked into it and for 3,000 a found a place in Michigan called accurate engines that picked my truck up and brought it back, so for me in jersey the total was 4 grand and they rebuilt the bottom end or put a new bored out bottom end on the hemi, either way you have a brand new ported bottom end, new pistons, rings, i mean they sent me the whole list of what they did, and you know what it was worth it, i had the high mileage plus the "hemi tick" totally came back like it was 2005 and i drove it off the lot, now 4 grand might be too much but if you really like the truck and everything is top notch, imagine having a "brand new" bottom end, that is just a suggestion but of course it might be not something that interests you, but i really loved it and since i had a 2005 with the hemi i thought maybe it would be a little closer of an idea you might like...

thinking back and checking the site i see that it is probably a new bottom end that they worked on already that goes in, thats why i had no core charge because they had the engine right there, so i guess they took mine off and put a brand new remanufactured one on, to those specs, and mine would be worked on and used for someone else's hemi...i had it stock so it was fine with me, i did not have and internal parts done, like a new crankshaft or new rods already installed, that was all new when i received the truck back it was powerful, maybe because the engine i was driving had a ridiculous "normal" hemi tick, but with the new bottom end the stock power came back plus, more...you know what i mean...and i had the truck back in about 7 days from pickup to drop off, and thats from jersey to grandeville michigan...
whats also cool is that they do way more than just hemi's they have engine rebuilds from a variety of, cars, i'm not a spokesman for them, i just think that it was a good deal and really convenient, most places in jersey wanted me to pull the engine bring it to them, they work on it take the engine, then i have to put it back in and i had no access to any tools or equipment to pull anything out, my dad had his ford f150 4.2 6 cylinder and they did that one also at the same time

Oh...I see they ported nothing in the bottom end because there's nothing to port in the bottom end. The heads are in the top end of the motor and can be ported. Did you possibly mean they bored the bottom end instead of porting the bottom end
