Muffler Swap
Wanting to do a muffler swap on my 06 Hemi. Wanting to know if anyone has done a swap on one of these with the MDS and how that affected drone. I would like a bit better sound but don't want any drone especially on the highway. I imagine if I left the resonators on I wouldn't get any drone but didn't know. I am thinking about going with a magnaflow style or possible a Flowtech afterburner. Anyone swapped their stock muffler out with one of these??

I had a rustmaster on mine and droned really bad switched to flowmaster and love it at cruise it's nice a below but when you hit it it roars since you have MDS it's gonna sound like crud when it kicks in unless you get a tuner and disable it

I had a flowmaster on my 01 for a bit and the drone was terrible but I also removed the CAT. I don't want to turn the MDS off but I don't want the drone either. Has anyone just done a straight up muffler swap on an 06-08. Left the resonators and everything and just replaced the stock muffler?
I have a cherry bomb extreme, still with my MDS enabled. It is load and the drone is loud when MDS in on. The only thing is that I won't want to take a long drive with the drone, but I make an hour to couple hour drive once a week and it is ok to live with

Did you leave your resonators on? I am wondering if I go with a little quieter muffler and leave the resonators on it will keep me from having the drone. That is why I was thinking about the afterburner mufflers. I have used them before and I thought they had a good sound outside the truck but not much in it. Not really what I wanted in my early twenties, but thought that might be good for this truck.

Yeah, I dunno what it is about MDS? I have a CB Extreme on my '04 (no MDS) and there is NO DRONE whatsoever, at any RPM. But I've heard two on MDS trucks and they droned like crazy, especially at highway cruising speeds (RPMs)...

Even our Yukon has the MDS and it has a drone at hwy speeds that isn't loud.
