Default Tail Light Strip Installation Adhesive

I bought an under tailgate LED tail light strip a while back and installed it a few weeks ago. The instructions went by way of Detroit regarding the installation. I ended up installing the light strip so that I cannot open the tailgate, so I need to remove the light strip and re-install it.

My question is what kind of adhesive is best for this product? I know most door trim and the like is installed with some kind of 3M double-sided foam tape, but I remember the original tape with the light strip was thin and is very strong.

it's a 3m trim adhesive, they make a couple different sizes, just clean everything really well with rubbing alcohol (including the light strip itself)

Thanks. I checked around last night and found a few types of 3M double-sided adhesive for emblems and trim. O'Reilly wanted $70+ for a 36 yard roll, which is some serious overkill. Another source has a smaller roll for $12 + shipping, while I also found O'Reilly sells Dorman Part #48105 for $2.99 for a 5' roll.

Check around, I was buying it on ebay for a good price but found a hardware/auto accessory guy at my local flea market has it for like two bucks for a 12 foot roll...

I checked e-Bay as well. Some sellers wanted high dollar for 3M brand tape while there were others selling large "pads", so to speak, directly out of Hong Kong for cheap.
