I received a letter a couple of weeks ago that stated the dealerships have the parts, so owners should schedule a date & time for repairs. I called a dealership in my area (that I will do business with) and scheduled the 21st. Two days ago, the same dealership calls and reports they did not receive a shipment of replacement parts and will have to call me when the parts do arrive so that a new day & time can be scheduled.

I have a funny feeling this is going to be a goat rope.

Still waiting on parts for both recalls here. I had been calling them weekly, but it fell off my radar. I need to give them a yell tomorrow.

The dealers are getting their "refills" partly based on how many they show complete. Right now we're waiting on more car airbags (300 and Chargers) , but I did 25 of the trucks on Saturday until we ran out. When they schedule you to come in and get it done...DON'T MISS YOUR APPT or you'll get bumped. Once it all got running, they have done a pretty good job keeping up...considering it's FCA

So far I think we've done around 450.

NOTE: Be sure and check your HORN operation before you leave the lot. Some of the horn buttons inside the covers are breaking when they're being flexed to remove/install the new airbags. It's something that can't really be avoided and the 2 that I've priced are in the 250 dollar range.

I fully plan to get my truck in for my appointment. Although I doubt the weather in Oklahoma would have affected these airbags, I don't like the idea of a landmine awaiting detonation in my steering wheel in the event of a collision.

Thanks for that tip about the horn. I should have thought about that ahead of time.

Yep, It's like staring at a "claymore mine" while driving. A smaller version.
I did enjoyed setting the clays up and setting them off. But, it was at a safe distance and not in your own face. Those steel ***** could do a number on you. And they could clear a path in the jungle pretty quick too. Ah, the good old days.

My '03 Ram has the R26 passenger side airbag and N62 left tie rod recalls on it. I'm by far more worried about the tie rod recall than I am the airbag, and there are parts available for the tie rod. The airbag is only a problem if it goes off in a wreck which is unlikely and even if it did go off there probably wouldn't be anyone sitting there.

Just need to get off my lazy butt and call the dealer!

It's because the #1 supplier of airbags (Takata) sold faulty equipment.
