I ordered a full set of replacement ONE PIECE lugnuts. My problem is, the old ones apparently have rust growing between the covers and the nuts causing the proper size (22mm) socket does not fit right. It just starts to go on, maybe a 1/4" then won't go on any farther. Is there a best way to get these old lugnuts off? I'm thinking maybe a 15/16" might work, if it doesn't round off the corners OR hammer the 22mm on and then pound it out of the socket after I get it off. Then throw it away and replace with the one piece nut. Any ideas,or have any of you dealt with this? By the way my truck is a 2003 1500 4x4 quad cab SLT with steel chrome clad wheels.
Seriously though, just keep trying to see which fits them. Last time I got my tires rotated at the stealer, they tried to talk me into buying new lugs but I already have a set at home that I'm waiting to install after I detail my wheels real good. They had to use more than one size of sockets. Their comment to me was, "You have swollen nuts." You can imagine what my response was.

I guess I get your pun but what I really need is to hear from someone that dealt with this successfully and what did you do? Maybe I have the game plan as stated in my original post.
