Default Drop in K&N filter or cold air intake?

So its time for a new filter. My buddy sayes his nephew has cold air intake on his dodge and its very loud under hood. I can go with K&N drop in the factory air box or change out to cold air. What is anyone else using? Thanks.

That's all a CAI is good for. Looks and sound. Depends on how much you want to spend.

This exactly. Spend less money and it's quieter. I have an Airaid CAI and it full song the intake roar is louder than my exhaust. Definitely a function of manifold design, because I have the same engine in my Charger and with the CAI in that it isn't nearly as loud as my truck.
