Default New Ram owner, upgrades

Hello all, I inherited an 07 1500 with the 5.7. I plan on putting a new exhaust on it and maybe some more performance upgrades. The original muffler is gone but I think the resonator and everything else is still there. Can i just mount a glasspack into the resonator or do i need additional tubing? If I do ill send it to a shop and if not i can probably do it myself. Any recommended upgrades for cheap?

You can't mount a glasspack "into" the resonator. You can replace the muffler with a glasspack. You can do it yourself using various correct size exhaust pipe adapters and exhaust pipe clamps, or take it to a shop and have them weld it in.

Im trying to get a good deep sound out of the hemi, should I leave the resonator on and do the glasspack or other tailpipe or take the resonator off?

I did exhaust on a friends charger. (true duals from the factory) Changed out the mufflers, and it really didn't change the tone at all. Cut the resonators out, and THAT made a difference.
