Default Coolant in your 1500s

Ive got a 08 1500, 4.7l and I was wondering what coolant you guys use. The coolant in it currently is the orange stuff, and I was wondering if you could drain the orange stuff and replace it with green stuff (the all makes/models coolant). Is it safe to drain it by just pulling the lower radiator hose and replacing the coolant.

No. If you want to do that (which is probably not the best idea in the world), you would have to drain it completely AND do a thorough complete flush of the entire system. Green + orange (Non-HOAT + HOAT) = gel and/or bad jujus. Are you considering this because it's cheaper or because you're having issues finding HOAT?
